I love the Player’s Tribune. I really do. It seems so necessary considering how terribly vindictive sport’s media has gotten these days. The story’s are intriguing and….look, just check it for yourself if you haven’t done so.
I’m also a fan of those moments when players show respect to each other for the many battles they’ve had on the court. It shows how much they value high level competition and is a sharp contradiction to the hateful, corny way TNT sells you “barbershop commentary.” In the end, once the winning/losing is done, these players respect the game more than anything else and when you see players like Paul Pierce lay it on the line every night, you can’t help but understand how they feel….even if you hate the shit out the Boston Celtics.
